Traditional PECBMS Webinar for the fourth time

April 25, 2024

The 4th PECBMS Webinar was held on 7th March 2024, and 44 participants attended the Zoom online event. It has already been a tradition to introduce news and highlights in the tools and data delivery in PECBMS. This time, we introduced three topics: RTRIM-shell, the Online tool part for national data provision and site-level data. The recording is available in Slack.

Since the last webinar, we have been working on updating the PECBMS tools used to calculate the national index (RTRIM-shell) and deliver national outputs (Online tool). Updates of both tools were introduced at the webinar by the PECBMS coordinator, Eva Šilarová.

Although we have not made any major changes to the script, the new RTRIM-shell_2.0 is much more user-friendly, especially for people starting with the program. The main advantage is that we merged all the previous scripts into one script, which enables us to prepare the input data, run RTRIM calculations, and prepare the results for upload in the PECBMS Online tool in one run.

The online tool intended for national data delivery was transferred into a new environment and merged with the Site-level data Online tool. Therefore, Site-level and national data tools are together in one place and accessible with one login.

The last part of the Webinar introduced news in the world of Site-level data. The PECBMS research officer, Anna Gamero, informed national coordinators about the news in the Site-level tool and gave an overview of the current research projects working with their site-level data.

A record of the whole webinar was purchased, and the PECBMS Slack users can still watch it (pecbms.slack.com/channel  #rtrim_webinar_2024).

The Webinar record is divided into three parts:

  • RTRIM-shell
  • Online tool part for National data provisions
  • Site-level data.

We consider these online Webinars useful tools for keeping in touch with the coordinators, and therefore, we plan to continue this tradition on a yearly basis. The audience can acknowledge all the important changes in a short time and ask questions at the same moment, which seems to be an effective way of communication.
