“I have always admired animals, especially birds. Therefore, I studied biology with a focus on animal behaviour. Later, I quit the field. However, being attracted by birds, I was still in contact with birders. Although my current job in PECBMS is mainly data work, I am looking forward to working with birds again. I am happy to be part of a sensible project helping to protect nature conservation on the European level.

My scientific career was about tits. For my masters, I studied reactions of various tit species towards conspicuous poisonous insects. Then I studied the personality of great tits. Yap, animals have the same personality as we human beings do. Afterward, I moved to the field of administration and now I am back by birds.

I like the combination of volunteer work with science on the PECBMS project because the more people from various fields of interest are into nature, the stronger protection can be applied. One of my hobbies in the meantime is, therefore, popularising science and especially birds. I like the idea that nature conservation should be understood already by little children. Therefore, I work with preschool children to attract them to nature. Birds are so cute, that they do a perfect job in this respect.”

We wish Eva a fruitful career in our team!
