International Conference Migratory and Resident Birds in a Changing Climate

June 30, 2023

We would like to draw your attention to the International Conference "Migratory and Resident Birds in a Changing Climate", which will take place on 28–29 September 2023 at the Brandenburg Academy "Schloss Criewen" (Federal State of Brandenburg, Eastern Germany) and cordially invite you as a speaker or participant.

As the topic is of European relevance, the international conference will be simultaneously translated into German, Polish and English. The conference will focus on resident birds, migratory birds and the impact of climate change. Migratory birds are very sensitive to climate change and adapt to it by changing their behaviour. It is difficult to predict how long individual bird species will take to adapt to climate change and how rare and vulnerable species will cope.  And what impact will changes in bird migration have on non-migratory species? There is a wide range of research and evidence on these topics, and we are particularly interested in new research and observations. We would be delighted to welcome you as a speaker at the conference.

As you may know, the Brandenburg Academy “Schloss Criewen” is institutionally funded by the State of Brandenburg. In addition, individual conferences are funded on a project basis, including this one. Therefore, we can cover the costs of accommodation and travel (at the lowest possible rate) as well as the conference costs for our speakers.

All interested persons and institutions are also very welcome to come and share information and experiences.

If you want to contribute or attend the conference, please contact Ms Uta Böhme at u.boehme@brandenburgische-akademie.de.

Looking forward to meeting you
