AVEFY and AVIZOR – new helpful applications for fieldworkers

SEO/BirdLife has developed two free mobile applications to train the ability to identify birds' songs and count large numbers of birds. Both skills are essential for volunteers collaborating in bird monitoring programs and censuses. It is available in English so that more people can use it.
Avefy
Avefy allows you to learn and practice the ability to identify birds by the sounds they make.
From a wide range of different environments in pine forests, oak forests, cities, scrublands and many more, you can practice playing with the birds that can be found in each of them.
Four difficulty levels differ by the number of bird species identified and their singing activity.

Avizor
Avizor allows you to learn and practice through a game to count individuals within large groups of birds. Therefore, it is a helpful tool to practice with virtual bird censuses.
Three difficulty levels for training (basic, medium and high) are differentiated by the number of individual birds counted. To respond, you can choose from four answers. On the contrary, the competition mode does not offer answers, and it is necessary to provide figures for the estimates. For example, if you made 80% of the correct figure, you would only progress to the subsequent phases.
