Jiří is a professor of environmental sciences. He aims to understand drivers of bird population dynamics by identification of the key factors limiting bird populations with the ambition to make informed conservation decisions. He took over the Czech common bird monitoring scheme after Karel Šťastný and Vladimír Bejček in 2004. His primary responsibility is to use the monitoring data for scientific purposes: he leads our own studies and communicates with other data users.

Petr has been working for CSO since 1996 in various positions, including CSO director or a coordinator of the PECBMS. He has been involved in the European coordination of EBBA2. He is also a member of the coordination team of the Czech common breeding bird scheme consisting of two surveys, the older one using point counts and the new scheme using line transect. Apart from the coordination, he contributes to the scheme by surveying plots for both schemes, and he participated as a fieldworker in breeding bird atlases. He has been active also in local bird monitoring studies.

Zdeněk is the director of the Czech Society for Ornithology. Among other tasks, he is interested in long term monitoring and changes in bird populations in general. He has participated in the Czech common bird monitoring scheme since 1995. His main responsibilities in the coordination team in the last years are recruitment and communication with volunteer fieldworkers, as well as keeping an eye on the software and organising programmers when needed.
